Two words for you, BLOWN AWAY… I have worked in the industry for over 15 years. I am telling you Ms.Regina has something special over at SGK! I had the Southern Boy (two piece catfish over gumbo) and it was incredible. The catfish was flaky and buttery on the inside with the perfect crisp of cornmeal on the outside. The gumbo had the perfect kick, that tickles your tongue enough to reach for your water but not drink it. We could not have picked a better place for lunch!
I will say there were two parts of my experience that was my favorite. The smoked turkey egg rolls (collard greens and smoked turkey meat), and the music. Nothing is better than when you get a little taste of home. Thank you for the experience and I can’t wait to be back! Spreading the word far and wide throughout DFW!

The food was great, the people were very inviting, the music was great. I had the brisket mac with greens and my husband had the bayou bowl we loved it.

Southern Gourmet Kitchen is truly a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine Southern hospitality. The service was magnificent—attentive, friendly, and full of heart.
And the food? Simply delicious! Every bite was bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can tell that everything is made with love and care, just like a true home-cooked Southern meal. Whether it’s their savory entrees or the mouthwatering sides, everything hits the spot.
If you’re looking for a place that serves comfort food with a gourmet twist and treats you like family, Southern Gourmet Kitchen is the place to go. I can’t wait to come back!

This is a MUST eat! This food is above and beyond what you see in the pictures. The chicken and fish are cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside. The mac and cheese is unlike any other. The alcoholic drinks are fresh and strong. The service is amazing. Everyone was super courteous and inviting. It feels like you're eating at your grandma's house after Sunday church service. I definitely will be returning each time I am in the area.

I absolutely love this place. Hands down the best food I had in Dallas yet. Them cheesy Grits was my favorite. Them collard green egg rolls were smoking hot and delicious. That catfish was seasoned to perfection.

One of the greatest experiences in the city is this place. From the front door to the time you leave the vibe and energy is on a 1000 but most importantly the food from every dish was on point!!! Hands down a 10 on the on five star scale.

The food was amazing. Me and my family tried a variety of items off of the menu. I personally had the fried catfish with my sides being macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and candied yams with a piece of cornbread. For an appetizer I tried the smoked turkey egg rolls! And they were the best thing that I had! My beverage was some kind of blue raspberry drink it was very good but was extremely sweet, and that would be my only drawback to this restaurant. I would give Southern Gourmet Kitchen a solid 9.4/10!

I was looking for soul food near my hotel and came across this restaurant.I'm definitely a sucker for a chicken and rice bowl so I got the bayou bowl with some yams on da side. Lemme tell you, I devoured that food, it was sooo good. My cake was a lil dry, no 🧢 but that was devoured too. I'll definitely recommend this spot to my family in the area.

The food was full of flavor from start to finish. The catfish was perfectly fried—crispy and well seasoned. The wings were delicious, and the sides were true comfort food, especially the collard greens and candied yams. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy, the cornbread was soft and flavorful, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. Regina, the owner, was so sweet, and you can truly tell she puts love into her cooking. Highly recommend.
